Capture His Heart
For the last two weeks I addressed the topic “Leading Yourself On.” As I thought about what I could address this week, typically off of the area of relationships, I believe that I was moved in this direction for a reason. Not knowing until now, based off of my previous blog we found out that many women know how to lead themselves on, but how many actually know how to capture his heart. It sounds easy, but in all reality it’s just not that easy. Some of you may say do the opposite of what I discussed in “Leading Yourself On.” Some may say, “How do you actually capture his heart?”
One man, a great man, has already captured each and every one of us, and his name is Jesus. I’m so glad that somebody loved me enough to lay down His life for me and you. Don’t get me wrong there’s no love like the love of God, but I know for myself one day I want to capture the heart of a man.
A book I’m currently reading that I suggest every single woman purchase and read now inspired this blog. That book is called “Capture His Heart” by Lysa Terkeurst. This book is about becoming the Godly wife your husband desires with chapters such as; “What the heart of your man wants you to know, Boys will be boys, The makings of a better lover,” etc.
This week is just an introduction to what I will blog on the next few weeks. I will not cover the entire book, but I will be sure to hit the highlights of the book. Lysa Terkeurst surveyed hundreds of men on what captures a mans heart and they were as followed:
- Husbands need their wives to support them spiritually.
- Husbands need their wives to encourage them emotionally.
- Husbands need their wives to enjoy them sexually.
- Husbands need their wives to appreciate them vocationally.
- Husbands need their wives to engage them intellectually.
- Husbands need their wives to connect with them relationally.
- Husbands need their wives to affirm them physically.
- Husbands need their wives to stand by them permanently.
Over the next week or so I will highlight a chapter or two and share what I learned through this book. Sometimes sitting back waiting for that man to show up is the hardest part. You wonder if it’s the man you are talking to or if you even met that man yet. The Bible says, “They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as an eagle.” Let us continue to wait to be Captured, but in the mean time, prepare ourselves for that appointed time.
