Scripture clearly outlines instances of our redemption based on Jesus's PHYSICAL death. For example:
-- Colossians 1:21-22 says, “And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in HIS FLESHLY BODY through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach…”
-- Hebrews 10:10,“And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the BODY OF JESUS CHRIST once for all.”
Where, then, can you show us IN THE TEXT where Jesus died a SPIRITUAL death? Not your opinion, not a popular orthodox theology, not a awe-inspiring buzz phrase... But, in the BIBLE. Please provide book, chapter, & verse references to support your teaching.
Furthermore, your computation of biblical numerology is disturbing. Simply, why do the math to add 3 (the time) and 4 (the man-made number of the saying) to add up to 7 (the number of completion)? Wouldn't the SEVENTH saying be considered the number that COMPLETES the scenario? All of this is sensationalism. There is no edification in elevating this particular saying above any others by assigning a numeric value.
Could it be that as He echos the words of David that Jesus was simply experiencing the sheer agony of the HUMANITY that He had taken on? Could it be that His recitation of Psalm 22 allows us to see the fulfillment of the prophecy in the rest of that Psalm in verses about His bones, his bruising, his divided garments?
He was fully human AND fully divine. At what point did He shed his divinity to separate himself (Son) from himself (God)? And IF this occurred, when was He resurrected SPIRITUALLY? We have Gospel accounts of his PHYSICAL resurrection. Can you provide book, chapter, and verse detailing this Spiritual resurrection as well.
Thank you.
