It's Your Turn

You’ve heard it before and now I tell you again “it’s your turn!” It’s your turn for what? Whatever it is that you’ve been waiting for. I encourage you, that in this waiting period, your number will be called next.  Don’t give up hope, and don’t you dare get out of line.  In the waiting line; either you wait by yourself, or in the company of others.  Relate ‘it’s your turn’ to everyday life. Most of us have had a day of errands that included appointments.  In a long day filled with errands and appointments, you may be the one who takes someone along with you, or better yet maybe you are the one who’d rather be alone during this time.  Either way, regardless of how many people were ahead of you, how many people you took with you, when it’s your turn, it’s your turn!

            Understand this; while you’re waiting for your turn, most of us are usually busy.  Whether we’re busy on the phone, texting, reading a book/magazine, talking with those who’ve accompanied you, you’re busy.  Busy working!  Busy doing the work of the Lord, serving, volunteering or chasing your dreams; then again I say get busy.  Time tends to go faster when you’re busy working.  So, what’s that prayer that you prayed and believed God for? What about that time you fasted for a particular thing? Better yet, that one thing you’ve worked hard for? Don’t count yourself out just because the line you’re in may be long. To you, it seems as if this line isn’t moving, but it is. You are closer to that dream. You are closer to your breakthrough. You are closer to that spouse.  You are closer to that child that you’ve been trying to conceive.  Don’t get out of line yet.

            In life, when you get out of line and come back, most of the time you end up in the back of the line continuing to wait.  Let’s not complain or sit around depressed thinking that things are never going to happen for you.  Stop listening to the devil tell you that you’re too old or even too young.  So if you got out of line, (gave up), then I encourage you to get back in line.  If you are waiting, then continue to wait. Know that as you wait, you are getting closer to your turn. Why not thank and praise God while you wait.  There’s a saying that the old saints say, praise confuses the devil.  Better yet go ahead and thank God before it’s your turn.  You may have seen family and friends get blessed time and time again, yet you are still in line. You may think that God has forgotten about you, or if He remembered that prayer that you prayed. Yes, He heard it.  He knows your name.  He saw your sacrifice.  He knows how long you’ve waited, and now it’s your turn.

            Romans 12:15 says “rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep” so when you see your brother and sister get blessed, start a business, get married, get a new job etc., celebrate with them.  Don’t get bitter, turn your nose up, and go to God with that same old prayer of, “I come humbly before you, asking that you bless me with…” No, celebrate your brother, and sister.  Get excited when those in your circle or those within your reach turn come.  Just as they had to wait on their turn, so will we.  Whether your turn is tomorrow, next week, next month, or even in a few years; wait….your turn is coming.
