James M. Ivy is a native of Chicago, Illinois and serves as Pastor of the New Zion Baptist Church of Beloit, Wisconsin. Under preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadership of Pastor James M. Ivy, new members were exponentially added to the congregation of the New Zion Church; new ministries were added providing the church with over fifty ministries for its members to be active in the work of the church; and in response to the pastor’s vision, the church paid off and ceremonially burned its mortgage thereby freeing the church to financially support more Christ centered ministry.

Upon his arrival to the New Zion Church in 2004, Reverend Ivy immediately became active in community involvement by co-operating with various groups and fellowships within the city. Reverend Ivy presently serves as President of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention Congress of Christian Education; the vice-president of the Beloit Community Ministers Fellowship; a board member of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health LIHF Steering Committee; a board member of the Rock County Opportunities Industrialization Center, a member of the (E)Quality Committee for the School District of Beloit; and a board member of the Stateline Boys and Girls Club.

Whenever spare time permits, Reverend Ivy enjoys golfing, playing chess, and taking his family to the movies. Reverend James M. Ivy is happily married to his wife Nashanna and they both share in the joy of parenting two sons and one daughter.
