Magic Mirror on the Wall,......?
Magic Mirror on the Wall?
One thing you may not know about me is that I am a Disney fan. I love everything about Disney!!! I love the cartoons, paraphernalia, Disneyland, etc. I especially love the Disney movies. My absolute favorite is of course is “Princess and the Frog”. Yet, there’s another movie that has arrested my thoughts for today’s blog. It’s the movie Snow White. The infamous line from that story lies with the Wicked Stepmother, Queen Grimhilde: “Magic Mirror on the Wall, who is the fairest one of all?” (I also found out it is the most misquoted).
We hopefully all know the story of why Queen Grimhilde wanted Snow White killed. The Magic Mirror told her the truth. This month, has been very difficult for me, especially with the topic of toxic relationships. This subject makes you hold up the mirror to your life. Each one of my bloggers, whether you know it or not, helps me to see the real me and what’s really going on with me. I also receive this help first of all through prayer time, Church, Sunday School, Bible study, etc. What’s interesting is that many times we are just like the Queen. We don’t like what we've heard or seen. We try to justify the truth that has been revealed, or like the Queen try in our own way to kill off the truth.
“Looking in the mirror” of your life, is oftentimes not a pretty sight. If you are honest, there are things you need to get rid of, people you need to cut off, relationships that need reexaminations, and lifestyles that need to be adjusted. I’ve had to look at the mirror and had to, with a heavy heart, delete numbers out of the phone. Look in the mirror and say to myself, “You have been holding on to that toxic relationship for years, and you didn’t know it.” Question myself, “Was that person worth holding on to this hurt?” And yes, lied to myself and said, “It’s not that bad.”
Like I said, it’s been a rough week and some changes are already in the mix. It’s true soul ties are no joke, cutting out the people in your life hurts, but is it worth the death you will die daily holding on to something that doesn’t want you? Holding on to things relationships that will suck the life out of you? Or are you like the Queen, trying to kill or deny the realities of your life?
I know for a fact, that God loves us. Whether you know it or not He does. He wants the best for us, and if that means cutting out anything that will not prosper you, then it’s time to take the scissors out and do some damage. It’s time to look in the mirror.
Can I get a witness?
