Shall Not Fail
You keep pushing, you keep praying and nothing happens. You begin to think back over you life and wonder where did things go wrong. You may even ask yourself the question “will things ever get better?” People look up to you as being the strong one, the leader in the family, the prayer warrior, the one who has faith to believe God can move a mountain for others. Yet when it comes to you, honestly you doubt just a little. The pressure of this world tells you that by this age, you should have this and you should have that. Reality sets in. At night while everyone else is sleeping you are awake. Awake because your mind continues to race with thoughts. Thoughts of how am I going to do this and how am I going to do that. Eventually you get to a point to where you remember this battle cannot be won without God. Did you forget to invite God into your situation? Or did you try to handle it on you own? For those of you who’ve been there or may even be there right now I want to encourage you in Gods word.
You are not the only one who’s been in this situation. A man by the name of Peter even after he denied Christ three times went on in life and did not fail. Peter didn’t sit there after denying God, thinking that he could not go on. Luke 22:31-32 says “ And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. “But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Even when it looks like you are going to fail you won’t. Jesus, just as he prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail, so as He did for you. The idea of knowing that Jesus prayed that your faith would not fail, only assures that you will succeed. Regardless of how life looks now, you shall not fail. The one who taught the disciples to pray is praying for you. The one who went to the Mount of Olive as He was accustomed to, to have prayer has prayed for you. What greater intercessor to have than Jesus.
Now, try that thing that you thought you failed again. That one thing that you walked away from prematurely because you thought you failed, walk back to it. That thing that you cursed with your own mouth, speak forth blessings. That relationship that is ungodly, stand upon the word of God. That business that you once worked hard on, go back and work harder. That one job that denied you before, apply again. That church you walked away from because of hurt, forgive, go back, or pray for another place of spiritual connection. We only fail because we choose to. God didn’t give up on you; sometimes we give up on ourselves. We give up because we can’t see our way through, but yet and still we claim we have faith. Can we see faith? No. Why must we know step by step what is taking place in our lives? Trust, rest, and believe in this…you shall not fail!
