SO TIRED
So Tired
This week has been very difficult for me. We laid to rest 2 young men in my community on the same day due to cancer and diabetes. A 6 month old baby was shot up in a minivan while her father was changing her diaper. Chicago has laid to rest so many young people that it’s mind boggling. I AM SO TIRED!!!! What has happened? Are we becoming numb to how our world is changing? I am not one to blame God….I blame us. What have we done to ensure our future? Are we speaking life or death into the next generation? Are we showing or teaching love for each other? Have we gotten that selfish? I AM SO TIRED!!!! Now I feel numb…I hurt so much.
I work at schools were I look at the face of young people every day. When I first started, I never saw so much hopelessness, anger, and lack of respect for authority. We speak and talk to parents who are selfish and feel that it’s the teacher’s job to raise their children. I fight for these kids innocence and pour into them hope. I have no children, but I fight daily to keep them sane. I pray for them consistently, especially over the summer. What are we doing to preserve our future?
I have no answers, but I do have the power of prayer. I have a God that says in: 2 Chronicles 7:14

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
It is time for us to take back these streets, and walk in the power and authority God has given his people.
