the empty box
just outside the city there is warehouse about the size of 5 football fields. inside this warehouse are thousands of boxes of various sizes ranging from the size of a square tissue box to an extremely large house. inside each box are several other boxes. on the outside of each box is a sticky note that reads various things. such as; finances, marriage, children, health, peace, comfort, peace of mind, provision, safety, deliverance, etc. on the inside of each box there is a note that says, "ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH". so if you were to go to the large box marked peace of mind, you would choose the box you wanted or needed from inside the larger box, according to your faith in that particular area.

a young woman comes is looking for the box labled 'deliverance' because she has been battling an 8 year addiction with alcohol. she locates the box and approaches it with much trepidation. the 'deliverance' box is a really big box, but she wastes no time selecting the box that resembles the size of a toaster. as she turns to walk away with her box she turns back to the boxes, takes another look, but shakes her head no, and walks away. she does that because as much as she wants to choose the largest box, she realizes that her faith for deliverance is no where near big enough. after all, it's been 8 years. so she chooses wisely.

a middle aged man comes in with a large truck and attaches it to the largest box in the warehouse, marked 'hope'. as he begins to leave the building, he passes yet an even larger 'hope' box, but doesn't even slow down. he is certain that he has the right sized box. person after person enter and exit with the box of their choice, and as each person reaches their destination, they begin to open their boxes with great anticipation and expectation, only to find their boxes empty.
imagine, if you will, the look on their faces, and the disappointment that consumed them as they expected to find what they needed so badly 'in the box'. (I forgot to tell you that the sign on the exterior of the warehouse read; "GOD IN THE BOX"). yes, every soul who visited this warehouse came expecting to find GOD in their carefully chosen box. sadly, they were misinformed. GOD can't be 'boxed' in. there's no box big, tall, deep, or wide enough to hold my GOD.
we are all seeking something of GOD, but instead of trying to confine HIM to what we think HE can or will do, try trusting HIM to do what HE says HE would do for you?!

Read HIS Word, learn of HIM...
EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS FOUND IN GOD, BUT GOD CANNOT BE FOUND IN A BOX
