What's on your mind?

Raise your hand if you woke up this morning with your mind 'stayed' on Jesus!  (Laughing out loud) My hand is not up!  I was just thinking about that song and how we really sing it like we mean it.  Don't send me any 'hate mail' if you, indeed woke up this morning with your mind on Jesus.  I'm only being my humanly, transparent self.  I wake up most mornings with curse words on the tip of my tongue, because I've hit the snooze button so many dog gone times, that I'm now running late. SMH

Is it me, or is the bed just too comfortable in the morning to let go?!  No, it's just plain old lazy.  I'm not a morning person either, but I think I'm more lazy than anything.  Here's the thing; it doesn't really take me a long time to get ready for work, (not really), but I need to navigate through my morning with purpose.  I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this, so let's figure out a solution.

I actually have a prayer call to be on in the morning. Some days I make it, and some days I sleep right through it. I always think that hitting snooze 'one more time' will give me the boost I need to finally get up.  In reality, it makes it harder to get up.  I am deciding to set the alarm clock a little bit earlier Not so I can continue to hit snooze, but so I have enough time to get myself together before I go to God in prayer.  I started to write, "so I would have enough time to get ready for work", but I want to point out that we should prepare to speak with the Father.  I'm used to just rolling over and praying, bad breath and all.  I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy "morning breath" all up in my face. So, I endeavor to give God my best.  I purpose to wake with Jesus on my mind.  In thinking about all that I need to do to prepare myself for my morning conversation, this will ensure what and who my mind is on when I wake.

The next thing I'm going to need to do is add time to work out.  Baby steps, please.  I believe that sharing with you (my reader) some how holds me accountable.  Lol.  Pray for me as I pray for you.  That we would not be lazy concerning the things of God.  That we would prioritize our lives to achieve optimum balance.  That we would all learn to keep Jesus on our minds...even first thing in morning.

Note to self; whatever usually occupies our thoughts in the morning are not things to improve our day, but thoughts of hows, what's, when's, and why's. Take note to how unimportant those thoughts become when Jesus is the first thought!

TC!
