WHO WILL CRY FOR THE LITTLE GIRL?
WHO WILL CRY FOR THE LITTLE GIRL
WHO WILL HEAR THE CRIES, THE YELL
WHO WOULD DARE RESCUE
THE LITTLE GIRL FROM HELL
WHO WILL CRY FOR THE LITTLE GIRL
THAT WAS ONCE SO BROKEN
WHO WILL KNOW AND UNDERSTAND
THE HURT, THE PAIN UNSPOKEN
WHO WILL CRY FOR THE LITTLE GIRL
WHO WILL HEAL THIS PAIN
WHO WILL MEND THE BROKEN HEART
WHO CAN REMOVE THE STAIN
THERE HAS TO BE HOPE FOR THE LITTLE GIRL
THERE HAS TO BE HELP, DELIVERANCE, RELIEF
SOMEONE MUST FEEL THE PAIN
THERE MUST BE A WAY OUT - I BELIEVE
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending an event that a young woman from my church organized. This Saturday afternoon brunch was hosted by 'A Mother's Haven', a ministry that focuses on single mothers and their needs. At this brunch I was amazed at the testimonies of the young ladies of this ministry. I was even more impressed by their boldness and the strength they displayed in sharing their stories.
One young mother opened the testimonial with a story of an unplanned pregnancy and a soon to be father who not only fathered her unborn child, but another young woman as well, at the very same time. He made every attempt to push her to abort the baby with promises of his undying love and future marriage. Needless to say, this young woman has a praying, prophetic mother who reached her just in time. Now that young lady is married with three children, and that baby boy is now 5. (it's ok, you can praise Him right here)
The other testimonials were of young women who experienced abandonment, abuse and rejection. They experienced abuse at the hands of family members who were supposed to love, support, and care for them. At the tender age of 5, some these young girls were stripped of their precious virginity; over and over again. Some of these young girls were physically abused as well as sexually. They were responsible for taking care of younger siblings, some of them, but who was taking care of them?
Some of these young ladies were in and out of foster homes simply because the one who was blessed to give birth to them said they didn't want them anymore. Can you imagine? I can't. I sat there and listened as I choked back tears of sadness. My childhood, though not free from struggle, was full of love and laughter, and protection. I could not relate to them. I could not get my mind wrapped around how something like this could ever happen. But it did; and it still does.
One woman's testimony went from a not so pleasant child hood to a drug addicted, drug selling adult life. She had even spent some time in prison; she is a two-timed felon. So, as I sat through story after story of what had been to what is now, I was amazed at just how good God’s Grace really is. These women don’t look like what they’ve been through. These women are successful and full of God’s love. These women lead great lives and serve God with enthusiasm. (go ahead and praise Him right there)
So, what is the point of such a ministry? What is the point in airing out all of one’s dirty laundry, telling people all of your business at the risk of them judging you? Well, the point is simple; these stories are not uncommon to many women and young girls all over the world. So these testimonies are needed, especially since these women have overcome the obstacles of their past. How can I minister something that I haven’t experienced, effectively?
To the women who have stories to tell, keep sharing. Someone’s life depends on your willingness to be open with what you’ve gone through. And if there is a child or adult in your life who has similar struggles, please pray for them, and point them in the direction of help.
In Rockford, we have A Mother’s Haven, a ministry extension of Faith Walker’s Assembly. You can find them on facebook, The Mother’s Exchange. I’m sure there are many others, please take a moment to comment at the bottom of the page and leave any information you may have. People are hurting and dying, and they need our help.
Thanks for reading,
TC!
